Description
Washington is hosting the 2018 MLB All-Star game for the first time in 50 years, and Capitol Hill Village (CHV) is opening its season with a glitzy, baseball-themed gala event. CHV’s gala is lined-up to hit a homerun supporting CHV activities, programs and Winter/Spring social events on the Hill.
The décor team of gala veterans will transform St Mark’s from a church to a cathedral of baseball: filled with Angels, Padres, Nationals, White Sox, Red Sox, Tigers and Cardinals and Cubs, oh my! Our crackerjack caterer will put a creative, high-end spin on a variety of stadium favorites. Music will not be reserved for the 7th inning stretch. No, no. All the best tunes are on deck and in the box for CHV’s major league dancers. But wait, there’s more…In addition to food, drink, dancing, and general revels – there will be a Live Auction featuring vacation home getaways and, always a fan favorite, CHV’s Salon Dinners.
UNIFORMS: As ever, the gala is black-tie optional, but this year there’s a twist. Whether you’re HOME or AWAY, we invite all attendees to wear their team love on their sleeves. So feel free to sport your gear, be it festooned with curly W’s, O’s, Yankee pinstripes, or black-tie (they all look spiffy). Please however, leave the chewing tobacco and sunflower seeds at home.
TICKETS: $125 per person and full tables (8 seats) for $1000. And corporate sponsorships are also available starting at $1250 and going up to $10,000. For more information look at the CHV website: www.capitolhillvillage.org/gala

Capitol Hill Village (CHV) supports aging on Capitol Hill to keep older adults socially engaged, continually learning, safe and connected. We involve families with aging members through education, resources and referrals. This is achieved through the work of a few staff and hundreds of volunteers who design and implement activities, and volunteer to serve members through activities like driving, friendly visits and household tasks.
